At the turn of the year Go Dutch took the reins of the catering and bar facilities at the Club.

Go Dutch, run by David and Lisa van Gestel, is a catering company based in Halifax, specialising in providing bar and catering services on a franchise basis. They have specialist working knowledge of sports clubs, golf clubs, public and recreational areas and providing catering within the workplace.   Their franchises run on a commercial basis with many advantages and benefits to their clients and most importantly their members.

They have over 20 years operational experience within the hospitality and licensed retail sectors. David and Lisa have both worked with Gardner Merchant, one of the largest catering companies in the world, and both attained graduate managers of the year for their respective divisions.

With a young family in tow David embarked on a career within the licensed trade and spent time with small regional pub companies before joining JD Wetherspoon as Area Manager and later became their Regional Manager for Yorkshire.

As a qualified chef David developed menus and marketing campaigns for several high street operators and held key roles for some of the major players in the licensed sector.

Lisa has juggled bringing up three children with a career with Calderdale council as Catering Manager and has played an integral part in the nutritional revolution of the school meal service over the last couple of years.

Lisa is looking forward to the challenge ahead: “Go Dutch are delighted to be working with Lightcliffe Golf Club.  We have, over the years built up considerable experience in the catering world, and we look forward to applying this experience here at the Club.  With our valuable catering and bar team, the support of you the members, and an upturn in the weather, we look forward to a successful partnership”.
